HOUSTON — A single mother driving for Uber escaped a brutal attack with her life but lost her car and her sense of security.
The driver, who asked to remain anonymous for safety, recounted the Sunday night ordeal to KHOU 11 News reporter Anayeli Ruiz. She picked up two men at Westheimer near Montrose, initially requested under the name “Christine.” When she arrived at the drop-off location, violence erupted as she parked.

“He smashed me once, and I thought — this is happening,” she said. As she fumbled for the door, someone grabbed her and struck again.
