Another Houston food-and-drink establishment to shutter in 2026

Wooster’s Garden isn’t the oldest bar in Houston’s Midtown, but it’s got a few years on it. Unfortunately, Wooster’s is not getting any older. The Kirby Group, the hospitality company that owns and operates the 3315 Milam St. business, has announced the bar will permanently close come Feb. 12.

The Kirby Group hasn’t yet responded to Chron’s request for comment about why Wooster’s is closing, but it made the announcement Jan. 31 on social media. “Houston, thank you for the years of love, late nights, and memories,” the post read. “Come see us, raise one more glass, and let us say thank you in person. We love you. Always.”

Rusty Delk opened Wooster’s Garden in late 2014. Steven Salazar, who back in the day worked at Kata Robata and Anvil, was tapped as a partner and the bar’s beverage director. I thought it important to mention Delk because he disappeared into the aether almost immediately after Wooster’s opened. Salazar would later open the critically acclaimed Diversión Cocktails in Spring Branch six years later and Katy Beer Garden in 2024.
