The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Katy is among a handful of locations including El Paso that closed across Texas over the weekend.
The Katy theater, located southwest of Houston, was the last remaining Alamo Drafthouse in the Houston area. According to a statement on themovie theater company’s website, franchise partner Triple Tap Ventures closed the Katy location along with two El Paso theaters and one in Lubbock.
The 8-screen theater in Katy first opened in July 2018. The first Houston-area Alamo Drafthouse opened in 2003 in the West Oaks Mall.
