Houston’s Paulie’s, Camerata spaces to be replaced by new Italian concepts

It’s been more than a month since longtime Houston haunts Paulie’s and Camerata vacated their 1834 Westheimer Rd. digs. The loss might still be fresh, but the spaces will soon host two new restaurants from Brasserie 19 owner and longtime Houston restaurateur Charles Clark: Carlo and Casa Carlo.

CultureMap Houston first reported Clark’s intentions to open two new Italian restaurants in Montrose. Clark told Chron some people floated the idea of him opening a concept there, but he balked at replacing an institution like Paulie’s. But then he heard a “cheesy Italian” restaurant chain was looking at the property.
