Another two-egg breakfast chain wants to invade Houston area

Texas may be the land of breakfast tacos, kolaches and donuts, but that isn’t stopping outsiders from trying to make big two-egg breakfasts happen here. The latest invader looking to snatch up the tastebuds of Houstonians? South Carolina’s Eggs Up Grill, which announced Tuesday a deal to expand further into the Space City market with additional franchise stores.

Franchise partners Lisa and Louis Jones have agreed with Eggs Up Grill to bring five more locations of the breakfast restaurant to Houston. It would join the only current area location in Conroe, plus the three more in Texas—near Addison in Dallas, Cedar Park near Austin, and in the Bluff Springs part of Austin. There’s also a location in Lake Charles, La.

According to a release, the Joneses got hooked on Eggs Up Grill after visiting one in Myrtle Beach, S.C. It’s unclear where the couple will open their Houston-area locations, only that “the brand is targeting key Houston submarkets and surrounding communities as part of its broader Texas growth plan.” So, uh, maybe the suburbs?…
