While driving down a busy Texas road, experienced rescuer Kristin Erwin caught a quick flicker of movement in the brush. That split-second glimpse was enough, she pulled over right away.
As soon as she got out, she was met with a scene that stopped her cold. A mama dog and her six tiny puppies were huddled in the rain, tucked tight against the roadside, doing their best to stay even a little bit dry.
The worn-out mom stayed close to her babies, watching them tumble and play in the soaked grass, completely unaware of how dangerous their spot really was.
