Late-Night South Loop Cash Grab, HPD Hunts Duo In Counter-Jumping Heist

Two men accused of jumping a store counter at gunpoint on South Loop West are now at the center of an HPD robbery investigation, and a useful tip could be worth up to $5,000.

Houston Police robbery detectives say the pair hit a business in the 1600 block of South Loop West on Dec. 9, 2025, at about 10:30 p.m. One man reportedly posed as a customer, then both went behind the counter, with one displaying a handgun while cash was taken from the register before they fled. Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

What detectives say

Police posted the wanted notice on Monday and listed the case as Houston PD #1607388-25. According to Houston Police Robbery, the Dec. 9 incident unfolded around 10:30 p.m. at a business in the 1600 block of S Loop W, where one man first acted as a customer before both suspects vaulted the counter. Investigators say one of the men then pulled a firearm and took money from the register.

The post describes the suspects as follows: “Suspect #1: Male, jacket (red hood and sleeves, with black core), dark pants, light-colored shoes, and surgical style mask. Suspect #2: Male, dark jacket (hooded), dark pants, and light-colored shoes.” Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes either man to contact Crime Stoppers with information that could lead to charges and/or an arrest.
