ALVIN, Texas — Fire crews contained a large blaze at a plastic recycling facility near County Road 281, along the northern border of Alvin and Pearland Monday afternoon.
The Alvin Volunteer Fire Department was first dispatched Monday afternoon after reports of a fire near the roadway. As additional calls came in, crews realized the situation was much larger. First-arriving units reported a massive column of black smoke visible for miles.
