Officers were dispatched to the 5300 block of Coke Street around 10:35 p.m. on Oct. 16, where they discovered Washington in a courtyard with at least one gunshot wound. He was rushed to a hospital and later pronounced dead, according to ABC13. Reporters and investigators noted different types of shell casings scattered around the area and a bullet hole in a nearby apartment window, details that led officials to describe the incident as a possible shootout.
