The Friendswood Police Department announced the arrest of six individuals connected to a large-scale gold fraud scheme that targeted elderly victims across Texas. The case began in December 2025 when an 81-year-old Friendswood resident was scammed out of $766,000, which was converted into 177 Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins. Detectives later discovered that a 76-year-old Friendswood resident had also been defrauded of $134,000 earlier that year.
