How will rain and the threat of severe storms spoil Houston’s busy weekend plans, especially if they’re outdoors? Here’s a breakdown of timing as far as we know:
Late Friday to early Saturday
Strong and severe storms that develop between Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin should stay far removed from Houston through Friday.
A few strong storms may approach Southeast Texas into early Saturday morning, especially north of the Interstate 10 corridor. While a gusty storm or two can’t be ruled out through Saturday morning, the primary window for damaging winds or tornadoes arrives in Houston during the afternoon.
Saturday afternoon and evening
Forecast confidence has grown that Southeast Texas will face its main severe weather threat Saturday afternoon and early evening, generally between noon and 8 p.m.
