30 officers arrested for alleged ties to cartels in Baja

SAN DIEGO (Border Report) — The Baja California State Attorney General’s Office has arrested 30 police officers for allegedly having criminal relationships with René Arzate-García, alias La Rana, and his brother, Alfonso Arzate-García, alias Aquiles, heads of the Sinaloa cartel in Tijuana.

The brothers were indicted last week by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Diego.

Both are accused of narcoterrorism and material support of terrorism in connection with trafficking massive amounts of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana into the United States during the last 15 years.
