Police detained a Texas man on Tuesday for allegedly committing fraud across the Treasure Valley and in multiple states.
Jiaxing Guan, 32, of Houston, Texas, was arrested in Caldwell by the Nampa Police Department with the aid of the Caldwell Police Department, according to a news release. Guan faces charges of burglary, forgery, and illicit possession of a bank card.
According to police on social media, the arrest stems from accusations of fraudulent behavior at a local grocery store, where Guan allegedly used stolen credit card information to purchase hundreds of dollars in gift cards, including an Easter basket. Police said the Easter basket appears to have no connection to the suspected offenses and was “likely an impulse purchase.”…
