A fast-moving house fire jolted a southeast Houston block awake early Saturday, ripping through one home, damaging a second and a car, and leaving neighbors convinced one house is a total loss. The blaze broke out around 4:30 a.m. near Sharondale Drive and Bellfort Avenue, pushing residents into the street as firefighters battled heavy flames. Witnesses said they worried the fire would leap to adjoining properties while multiple engine companies worked the scene.
