The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has been a Texas institution for 94 years, and this year, it had to implement a dress code.
What started as a few social media posts calling out revealing outfits at NRG Park quickly snowballed into a full-blown national conversation about what belongs at a family-friendly event — a debate so loud that rodeo officials felt compelled to act mid-event, updating their guest code of conduct during the final week of the three-week rodeo for the first time in its history.
TikTok Influencer Said Pictures from the Rodeo ‘Appalled and Disgusted’ Her
The tipping point came when influencer Olivia Juliana posted a video that racked up over 2 million views. “Maybe I’m more conservative than I thought I was,” she said, “because the videos and pictures I’ve seen from the Rodeo this year of people using a** cheeks as an accessory have appalled and disgusted me.”
