HOUSTON (CW39) — A man has been arrested for the murders of two people back in 1990 in a cold case in Houston, police said.
Floyd Parrott, 64, was arrested in Lincoln, Nebraska and is charged with capital murder of 22-year-olds Garland “Andy” Atkinson and Cheryl Henry in what is called the “Lovers’ Lane” murders.
On Aug. 23, 1990, Atkinson and Henry were on a date and parked outside of a cul-de-sac in west Houston. A security guard found both victims dead of strangulation.
The case remained cold for several years, but a joint investigation by Houston police, the FBI and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office continued to work on the case and identified Parrott as the suspect…
