Old Hickory Inn Barbecue moving to new Houston location after 63 years

One of Houston’s oldest barbecue restaurants has found a new home in the city. After 63 years in business, Old Hickory Inn Barbecue officially shuttered its space at 5427 S Braeswood Blvd. over the weekend to move on to bigger and better digs.

Fortunately, folks won’t have to venture very far because its new Meyerland location is just about one mile away at 9601 Hillcroft St. Some Houstonians may remember that building as the former Floors for Living or Blockbuster Video. According to Old Hickory Inn Barbecue, its original tenant was a Mauldin’s Pharmacy.

But it won’t be long before it’ll be the site for the family-owned restaurant’s slow-smoked ribs, brisket and other classic barbecue bites…
