‘A mistake was made’ | Historic bricks will return to Freedmen’s Town after improper removal by the developer

HOUSTON — Historic bricks that were improperly removed from Wilson Street in Freedmen’s Town are expected to return soon.

On Wednesday, the Houston City Council approved an agreement to bring the bricks back to the area where formerly enslaved people originally laid them in the 1870s.
