West Houston Two-Alarm Apartment Blaze Injures Firefighter, Tenant Near Sam Houston Parkway

A two-alarm apartment fire in the Holly Springs area of west Houston left a firefighter and a civilian injured Sunday night, officials said. The blaze broke out near Valley Forge Drive, close to Briar Forest and the West Sam Houston Tollway, and drew a heavy response from multiple Houston Fire Department crews.

The Houston Fire Department upgraded the incident to a two-alarm fire, according to KHOU. Crews remained on scene as firefighters worked to contain the flames and shield nearby units from further damage.
