Yale Street Grill Offers One of the Most Nostalgic Experiences in Texas

If you’re anything like me, you enjoy taking a trip back in time. While time travel itself is impossible, some ways can make you feel as though you can. For example, visiting an antique store, catching a flick at a drive-in movie theater, or chowing down at an old diner can certainly make you feel like you’ve time-traveled to another era. If that sounds like fun to you, you may want to check out the over 100-year-old Yale Street Grill in Houston. It’s one of the most nostalgic diners in Texas.

Delicious home-cooked food and an antique store aren’t the only things you’ll find inside Yale Street Grill in the Houston Heights neighborhood. You will also experience a sense of traveling back to simpler times once you enter its doors. This old-school diner has been a local favorite for over 100 years, making it one of the most historic diners in Texas. It started out as the Yale Street Pharmacy in 1923. At that time, there was an eatery, a post office, and a gift shop, all in the same building, under one roof.

Visiting today, it’s almost as if nothing has changed for many, many decades. The nostalgia here is palpable, making it such a wonderful place to dine.

Open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Yale Street Grill offers classic American breakfast and lunch dishes to hungry customers. Whether it’s a Belgian waffle, pancakes, or an egg dish to start your day, you won’t go hungry with the huge portions here at Yale Street Grill in Houston.

The lunch menu is also extensive, offering sandwiches, salads, burgers, and more. Try a bacon cheeseburger with a side of onion rings and a milkshake for a classic and filling meal. There’s also a kids’ menu as well as desserts, shakes, and malts.

One thing’s for sure — once you visit, you’ll understand why this is a local favorite with numerous regular customers and a sense of community like nowhere else in town. After your meal, don’t forget to head to Lovejoy’s Antiques & Collectibles. Located inside the same building as Yale Street Grill, you never know what vintage treasures you’ll find!…
