Jeanerette man wanted for New Iberia deadly shooting from 2024 caught in Houston

A man wanted for a deadly shooting in New Iberia nearly two years ago has been arrested in Texas and brought back to Louisiana to face charges, according to the New Iberia Police Department. Derrick Mouton, 31, of Jeanerette, is charged with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated criminal damage to property, aggravated assault with a firearm, and possession of a machine gun.
