Galena Park enacts curfew after deadly shooting at teen hangout

GALENA PARK, Texas — Galena Park leaders have enacted a city-wide curfew for all parks following a deadly shooting at a popular teen gathering spot — a move that’s drawing mixed reactions from the community.

Under the new policy, all city-owned parks will close from 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. until further notice. The city is also adding 24-hour security monitoring stations in addition to the cameras that exist, warning that anyone who violates the curfew could face charges.
