An Irish-themed sports bar in northeast Houston has suddenly shuttered, leaving its employees in the lurch at the last possible minute. Last weekend, workers at the Mo’s Irish Pub in the northwest Houston suburb of Cypress learned via group text that they no longer had jobs.
News of Mo’s closure at 14102 Mueschke Rd. hit the Cypress Area Foodies group on Tuesday. Commenters said the bar had suddenly shuttered, and all of its staff were left out in the cold. Alanna Herrington was one of them. Herrington told Chron she started working at Mo’s in January. Her last day on Sunday.
“I was at work all day long, everything was normal,” Herrington said. “The new schedule even came out. And that’s when everyone from the group chat started saying we are all unemployed.”…
