With cost-of-living concerns top of mind for households across the United States, relative affordability, along with a highly rated quality of life, has put three Houston suburbs near the top of U.S. News & World Report’s annual ranking of the nation’s best places to live.
Sugar Land, in Fort Bend County, is the No. 10 best place in the magazine’s Best Places to Live in the U.S., 2026-27 edition, released Tuesday. League City and Pearland are not far behind, ranking No. 13 and No. 16 respectively. Katy, west of Houston, also placed in the top 50, coming in at No. 38.
