Bankrupt home goods giant makes strange new comeback in Texas

Bed Bath & Beyond is staging a comeback—but not in the way shoppers remember.

The once-iconic homegoods retailer will reopen inside The Container Store as part of a merger-driven revival, bringing dozens of locations back nationwide, including a few in the Houston area.

The partial relaunch comes just three years after Bed Bath & Beyond filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2023 and shuttered all of its physical brick-and-mortar stores that summer. The brand, now operating as an e-commerce-focused home goods company, will reappear in 98 locations across the U.S., according to a recent news release.

What Houston locations are planned?

Four Bed Bath & Beyond locations will reopen as co-located storefronts in the Houston area:

  • 5466 FM 1960 West, Houston.
  • 2511 Post Oak Blvd, Houston.
  • 18760 Gulf Freeway, Friendswood.
  • 1455 Lake Woodlands Dr., The Woodlands.
