A violent overnight stretch in Long Beach left multiple people injured in two stabbings and a shooting, continuing concerns about rising crime as summer temperatures begin heating up across the city.
The violence came just hours after a man was shot and killed Thursday afternoon in North Long Beach near Cedar Avenue and Plymouth Street, adding to growing fears from residents about escalating violence citywide.
The first overnight attack happened May 28 at approximately 10:36 p.m. in the 4500 block of California Avenue. Officers responded to a stabbing and found an adult female suffering from stab wounds to her upper and lower body. Long Beach Fire Department paramedics transported her to a hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
Investigators said the woman was walking in the area when a male suspect approached and stabbed her before fleeing. The motive and suspect information remain under investigation…
