Mission Viejo High School’s softball team saw a championship opportunity slip away in the CIF Southern Section Division 4 final, falling to Oxnard after holding a strong position for much of the contest.
The Orange County squad entered the game with confidence following a strong playoff run, but late-game pressure from Oxnard shifted momentum and ultimately decided the outcome in a dramatic finish.
