Prosecutors say DNA links Long Beach man to 1990 kidnapping case

A Long Beach, California, man has been arrested in a 1990 kidnapping in Oxnard after investigators say advances in DNA technology linked him to evidence collected more than three decades ago.

Bobby Rollins Jr., 55, was arrested June 10 and is charged with kidnapping with intent to commit robbery, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. Prosecutors say he used a firearm and are seeking multiple sentencing enhancements, including claims the attack involved great violence and that the 18-year-old victim was particularly vulnerable.
