Don Churros Gomez To Join Katella Commons In Anaheim

Don Churros Gomez is slated to open a new location at Katella Commons, the upcoming 50,000-square-foot market hall at OCVIBE in Anaheim. The concept, led by brothers Jaime and Ricky Nuñez Gomez, was announced this week as one of five new culinary additions to the development. Katella Commons is scheduled to open in early 2027.

The business traces its origins to Yahualica, Jalisco, Mexico, where the brothers’ grandfather, known as Don Churros, created the family’s original recipe in 1969. Today, the third-generation family business operates a storefront in Downtown Santa Ana at 215 W. Fourth Street and a food truck in Anaheim.

According to the company’s website, its churros are made from scratch using a proprietary recipe passed down for more than five decades. At Katella Commons, Don Churros Gomez will serve its traditional thin-style churros alongside other Mexican desserts…
