Irvine Police Use RTCC Surveillance to Arrest San Bernardino Man in Cypress Village Package Theft Investigation

Irvine police arrested a San Bernardino man on Saturday in connection with a series of package thefts reported in the Cypress Village neighborhood over the past several months. Investigators with the department’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) initially identified a potential suspect vehicle linked to the incidents.

On Saturday, the RTCC alerted patrol units that the vehicle had entered the Cypress Village area. Members of the Directed Enforcement Team, alongside operators from the Drones as a First Responder Pilot program, maintained aerial and ground surveillance of the vehicle as it drove around the neighborhood for approximately 45 minutes.
