Robbers hit 3 Long Beach pharmacies in single day

Police are investigating a string of pharmacy robberies that occurred in less than 9 hours in Long Beach earlier this week.

During the first of three robberies on Monday, investigators say prescription drugs were taken before the bandits even entered the CVS store at 3575 Atlantic Ave.

The incident occurred about 10:50 a.m. when four male suspects told a delivery truck driver preparing to unload a shipment of medication not to move, the Long Beach Police Department stated in a news release Wednesday.

“The suspects proceeded to enter the truck and take the prescription medication,” the police department stated.

The suspects then fled the scene in a light-colored sedan.

About four hours later, three male suspects entered the T&C Pharmacy located at 2340 E. Pacific Coast Highway with two of them jumping over a counter and stealing prescription drugs.

During the robbery, police said one of the suspects grabbed his waistband as if he was armed, but no weapon was seen.

The suspects fled that scene in what was described as a dark-colored sedan.
