County Grants $20K Prize for Information for The Death of a Huntington Park Police Officer In 1967.

Officer Robert Keller of the Huntington Park Police Department was shot and killed on October 5, 1967, as he was attending to a break-in at a store on Pacific Boulevard.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is now hopeful that a reactivated $20,000 prize would spark fresh breakthroughs in the decades-old cold case. His murder has been unsolved for 57 years.

The Board gave its approval to a motion on Tuesday to reinstate the prize for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of Keller’s killer. Supervisor Janice Hahn of the Fourth District, which includes Huntington Park, wrote the motion.

In a press statement, Hahn stated, “The murder of Officer Robert Keller continues to be painful for the Huntington Park community and his family.” “Even after all these years, we still want to settle this case and give Officer Keller’s family some peace of mind. I want anybody with knowledge regarding this homicide to contact our Sheriff’s investigators.

Keller was a spouse, a father to a newborn, and a veteran of the United States Navy. It had only been a year since he joined the Huntington Park Police Department.
