A man from Los Angeles County was sentenced to 26 years in federal prison on Monday after he admitted to providing fentanyl that resulted in two fatalities in Redondo Beach hotel rooms on consecutive days.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, U.S. District Judge Dale S. Fischer also mandated that William V. Fulton, 40, of Torrance, pay $12,385 in restitution.

In July, Fulton entered a guilty plea to a federal charge of methamphetamine possession with the intent to distribute. He also acknowledged providing fentanyl to two individuals who overdosed and died.

A five-count indictment accusing Fulton of narcotics offenses and possessing ammunition while a felon was filed in May 2021.

Fulton confessed to providing fentanyl to a deceased individual on October 10, 2020, and repeated the same action at a different hotel one day later, where another individual passed away from a fentanyl overdose. According to the indictment, Fulton had more than 2.5 ounces of methamphetamine and more than two ounces of fentanyl when he was taken into custody by the Redondo Beach Police Department on October 13, 2020.
