Police, family search for man missing in Lakewood

Police and family members are asking for the public’s help in searching for a man who went missing after he was last seen in Lakewood on Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department describes Collin Anthony Thorpe II as a 28-year-old Black male who stands 5 feet and 11 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds.

LASD says Thorpe was last seen around 11 p.m. on Dec. 11 on the 2000 block of Loomis Street, in Lakewood. He was purportedly wearing cream-colored shorts and a black/grey shirt.

In addition, LASD says Thorpe has short black hair, brown eyes, a tattoo of flowers on his left arm, a Chinese lettering tattoo on his right arm, braces and a goatee.

“Mr. Thorpe’s loved ones are concerned for his well-being and asking for your help,” stated the LASD press release issued on Dec. 12.

Police did not immediately say whether Thorpe had a known destination or if he had communicated with anyone prior to his disappearance.

Officials ask anyone with information about this incident to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500.
