CARSON, Calif., Dec. 18 (KNN) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced early Wednesday morning the conclusion of an incident regarding a barricaded male adult suspect.
The area was deemed safe, and all neighborhood evacuees were allowed to return to their homes, reported the LASD in a 6 a.m. advisory update on Nixle.
The situation unfolded late Tuesday when the LASD Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) responded to assist the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station with an armed barricaded assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping suspect, according to authorities.
The incident was reported at approximately 11:00 p.m. on the 21800 block of Water Street in the city of Carson.
According to the LASD, SEB personnel assumed tactical command, and a Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) attempted to contact the suspect to conclude the situation peacefully.
The surrounding homes were evacuated for the safety of the residents.
