Los Angeles Police Department officers shot and wounded a suspect in South Los Angeles Thursday evening, setting in motion a chase that ended in Compton with two suspects being taken into custody.

LAPD Gang Enforcement Detail officers saw two vandalism suspects near the corner of 92nd Street and Hooper Avenue before 7 p.m. As they approached the suspects, a third suspect shot at them, the officers returned fire and a pursuit began, police said.
The chase ended in Compton near the intersection of East Compton Boulevard and South Bullis Road, CBS 2 reported.
The wounded suspect was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition, according to CBS 2.
Police took the other two suspects into custody after the pursuit ended and police found a gun was found in the car, police said.
