Santa Ana winds persisted Wednesday throughout Southern California as firefighters approached total containment of the Eaton Fire that has destroyed thousands of structures and caused the deaths of at least 17 people.
Despite the winds, containment of the wildfire increased to 91% Wednesday, up another 2% from the previous day, according to Cal Fire.
