Drunk driver gets 18 years in prison for killing Long Beach man on 91 Freeway

A 25-year-old man pleaded guilty Friday and was immediately sentenced to 18 years and four months in prison for killing a Long Beach man in an alcohol-fueled, hit-and-run crash on the 91 Freeway near Brookhurst Street on the Anaheim-Fullerton border.

Tyler Christian Williams pleaded guilty to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level at .08% or more causing injury, and hit and run with permanent injury, all felonies.

Williams also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of driving on a suspended license and admitted sentencing enhancements for fleeing the scene of a vehicular manslaughter and inflicting great bodily injury on the victim…
