Security Guard sentenced to 15 years to life in Hollywood Walgreens shooting

A Covina man who worked as a private security guard was sentenced Friday to 15 years to life in state prison for fatally shooting a man during a confrontation inside a Walgreens store in Hollywood more than six years ago.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke denied defense attorney Alexandra Kazarian’s request for probation for Donald Vincent Ciota, along with the defense’s motion for a new trial.
