Long Beach Police Investigate Late Night Shooting, Seize Illegal Firearms in Separate Incident

The Long Beach Police Department reported an incident late last night involving a no-hit shooting, as well as the successful recovery of two firearms in a separate event by its High Crime Focus Team officers. At around 10:39 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of West 31st Street after receiving calls of shots fired in the area. Once they arrived, evidence of a shooting was found, but thankfully no individuals were reported injured. The reason behind the gunfire remains unknown, and police are still in the process of gathering information on any possible suspects, as noted on the LBPD official blotter.

In a separate incident last night, Long Beach’s High Crime Focus Team officers managed to quickly take two loaded firearms and ammunition off the streets. The operation occurred in the 1000 block of Via Wanda and resulted in the arrest of two male adults. The suspects were found to be prohibited possessors of firearms, escalating the seriousness of the situation.
