Thousands of Californians Told To Avoid The Ocean: ‘Never Turn Your Back’

A high surf advisory is in effect for parts of the Californian coast, where the National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting dangerous conditions through Saturday morning.

From Del Norte County to Los Angeles, high waves are expected to pound the shore this weekend, with some reaching up to 30 feet in certain areas.

The alert warns of life-threatening rip currents , sneaker waves and localized beach erosion, and the NWS is reminding beachgoers, “Never turn your back on the ocean.”
