Teen Driver Caught Going 102 MPH in a 65 MPH Zone in Spiffy Sports Car in California

CALIFORNIA — A teen with a provisional license was stopped by California Highway Patrol officers after reaching speeds of 102 MPH in a 65 MPH zone just after midnight, the CHP stated. The teen was driving with passengers, violating key provisions of the provisional license, the CHP added.

According to California law, drivers under 18 face restrictions during the first 12 months, including no driving between 11 PM and 5 AM and no passengers under 20 unless accompanied by a licensed adult over 25.

The teen’s parents received a late-night call from law enforcement, clearly not thrilled with the situation. For safer driving, the CHP encourages families to enroll in the Start Smart program, a free 2-hour safety class.
