San Diego Weather Service Forecasts Showers and Strong Winds; San Bernardino, Coachella Valley to See Gusts Up To 75 mph

The National Weather Service San Diego has released forecasts indicating minor temperature variations for the rest of the week, with chances of showers and thunderstorms by Thursday afternoon, primarily affecting the San Bernardino County mountains and nearby deserts. Coastal areas will see temperatures ranging from 63 to 70 degrees, while the high desert areas can expect a slightly warmer 75 to 82 degrees. Wind conditions are forecasted to sharply increase, especially on Saturday afternoon and into the night. Isolated gusts in the northern Coachella Valley could reach dangerously high speeds of 65 to 75 mph. “Slowly warmer for early next week followed by greater drying and warming for the middle of next week,” described the Area Forecast Discussion from the National Weather Service.

Marine conditions are expected to remain non-threatening until weekend changes arrive. Boaters should anticipate an uptick in west to northwest winds, particularly Saturday night and Sunday, with parts of the coastal waters near San Clemente Island possibly experiencing gale-force winds. “Gusty west to northwest winds will develop over the coastal waters this weekend, with strongest winds Saturday night and Sunday,” confirmed the forecast discussion from the National Weather Service San Diego…
