Police announced Saturday the arrest of a former Laguna Beach hotel general manager who is accused of sexually assaulting a minor, as well as being involved in narcotics sales and illegal firearm possession.
The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Phelton Calhoun of Laguna Niguel, was the former manager of La Casa Del Camino. According to the Laguna Beach Police Department, officers began investigating on July 15 after receiving a report of a sexual assault involving a 17-year-old girl. Calhoun was arrested the following day, July 16.
“The incident occurred in Laguna Beach about three weeks earlier, where the juvenile victim stated to police that Calhoun raped her while she was intoxicated,” LBPD stated. Police did not specify whether Calhoun was a hotel employee at the time or where the incident occurred…
