Kolby Aipa, the grandson of legendary Hawaiian shaper Ben Aipa, tragically died on Tuesday, Aug. 5, after being injured three days earlier in an e-bike accident in Huntington Beach. He was 20.
Huntington Beach police spokesman Corbin Carson said Aipa was riding an e-bike being towed by a friend’s truck when the accident occurred at approximately 10:08 p.m. on Aug. 2 near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Seapoint Street. Aipa was critically injured when the truck and bike collided.
The Huntington Beach Police Department, which responded to the accident, reported in a news release that officers “found (Aipa) unconscious in the roadway. Paramedics responded and transported him to a nearby hospital … where he eventually succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.”…
