Huntington Beach Alert Leads to Arrest of Suspects With Fake IDs Linked to Mail Theft Operation

In the early hours of a recent morning, a group of individuals incited suspicion after hotel staff at a Huntington Beach lodging facility reported them trying to check in with what appeared to be fake credit cards and identification. According to KTLA, the group fled before the arrival of the authorities. However, the Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD) was quick to track the suspects down, finding them soon after in the vicinity of the hotel.

During the police intervention, HBPD officers were able to rapidly uncover a significant amount of evidence. “They uncovered a pile of evidence, including numerous fraudulent IDs, forged checks, and several checks that may belong to victims of mail theft,” the HBPD shared in a Facebook post. The findings suggest that the suspects were part of a broader mail theft operation. Police are currently in the process of sifting through the items to identify and get in contact with the possible victims.
