Southern California is bracing for several more days of gusty Santa Ana winds that will send temperatures soaring across Los Angeles this week, with potential record-breaking heat arriving by midweek.
“We’re forecasted to warm up the next couple days,” said Bryan Lewis, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Oxnard. “By Wednesday, much of the L.A. Basin will be in the 80s.”
The sweaty conditions are expected to linger through Friday at a minimum, with powerful Santa Ana winds primarily affecting the area’s “wind-prone corridors.” Wind advisories are active through Monday afternoon at least, cautioning residents about gusts reaching 40 mph across much of northern Los Angeles County and eastern Ventura County…
