The Sky Room, Long Beach’s storied rooftop supper club, is back in action after a major remodel, once again serving multi-course dinners with sweeping ocean views. Chef Maxwell Pfeiffer is running the kitchen, blending Old Hollywood supper-club nostalgia with a modern coastal spin. The comeback is part of a larger restoration of the Breakers property that aims to recapture the landmark’s 1930s-era glamour.
Pfeiffer recently walked reporters through some of the room’s top dishes on a televised segment, which also reminded viewers that the Sky Room has long doubled as a low-key celebrity hangout. As reported by CBS Los Angeles, the spotlight fell on seafood crudo, tableside presentations and polished takes on comfort food.
What to order
The menu leans into classic supper-club comforts while making room for contemporary seafood and seasonal small plates. Eater LA notes options like hiramasa crudo, Iberian pork presa and duck à l’orange, right alongside oysters Rockefeller and Parker House rolls.
The restaurant’s own materials play up a “classic but show-stopping menu” and a private-dining program tailored to tasting menus and tableside service, per the Sky Room.
