On February 20, 2026, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies rushed to the 13000 block of Sundown Road around 8:58 p.m. following reports of an assault with a deadly weapon.[2] Callers alerted authorities that multiple individuals had been shot at the location.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported all three to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment. Tragically, two of the victims succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival.[1]
Victims from Cerritos and Beyond
The deceased victims were identified as Ayanna Smith, 48, and Annaya Scott, 26, both residents of Cerritos.[2] The pair had been visiting the area when the violence unfolded. A 28-year-old man from Redlands also sustained gunshot injuries and remained hospitalized as updates emerged.[3]…
