2 killed in Anaheim crash after driver refuses to stop for police

An erratic driver who refused to stop for officers and ran a red light caused a multi-vehicle crash that left two people dead in Anaheim early Tuesday, police said.

Officers attempted to stop a silver Infiniti near Lincoln Avenue and Anaheim Boulevard around 1 a.m., but the driver refused to pull over and crashed nearby after running the red light, according to the Anaheim Police Department.

“We were not in pursuit. Our officer did not have a chance to activate lights or sirens,” Sgt. Sutter told KTLA’s Erin Myers at the scene. “Was the officer trying to conduct an enforcement stop? Yes. Did we get to the point of a pursuit? No, we did not. This happened very fast, very quickly.”…
